What is MP3 Metadata Viewer?

Every MP3 file has metadata baked into it — the title, artist, album, year, genre, comment, and often an embedded album cover. This is the data your music player uses to show "Now playing" cards. Sometimes you want to see what's in there: when troubleshooting a misnamed track, when an MP3 export from a recorder shows weird tags, or just out of curiosity. This viewer reads ID3v1 (legacy 128-byte footer) and ID3v2 (modern, prepended) tags, including embedded artwork, all in your browser.

How to use MP3 Metadata Viewer

  1. Drop an MP3 — Drag an .mp3 file into the upload area.
  2. Read the tags — Title, artist, album, year, genre, comment and embedded artwork all appear instantly.
  3. Reset to view another file — Click Reset to load a different MP3.
