Why is this tool useful?
Fast comparison across currencies
Swap source and destination currencies and recalculate without manually applying division or inverse rates.
Rate-based transparency
A converter can show the rate used, helping you distinguish the market conversion from bank fees and spreads.
Useful planning estimate
Get an immediate approximation before committing to a card payment, transfer, or cash exchange.
Best Practices
- ✓ Check the rate timestamp. Exchange rates move continuously, and a stored or cached value may not match the rate offered at payment time.
- ✓ Treat the result as an estimate unless the tool includes the exact provider spread, transfer fee, card surcharge, and tax.
- ✓ For accounting or contracts, record the source, timestamp, and rate used so the conversion can be reproduced later.
- ✓ Keep enough decimal precision during the calculation, then round only the final displayed amount according to the currency’s minor unit.
- ✓ Compare the final amount from the bank or payment provider, not only the mid-market rate.
Practical examples
100 USD to EUR, displayed rate: 1 USD = 0.92 EUR.
92.00 EUR. The result changes when the displayed exchange rate changes and may not include bank or card fees.
500,000 COP to USD, displayed rate: 1 USD = 4,000 COP.
125.00 USD before provider spreads, commissions, or foreign transaction fees.
Frequently Asked Questions
The tool attempts to fetch live rates from a free exchange rate API. If the request fails (e.g. due to network issues), it falls back to periodically updated hardcoded rates. Live rates should be accurate to within a few minutes.
When live rate fetching fails, the tool uses built-in fallback rates that may be slightly out of date. For financial transactions, always verify rates with your bank or a financial institution.
The tool supports 32 major currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CAD, AUD, CHF, CNY, INR, BRL, MXN, KRW, and more. New currencies may be added in future updates.
This tool is intended for informational and planning purposes only. For actual financial transactions, use rates provided by your bank, broker, or official financial service.
